9 RULES OF PROFESSIONAL SELLING.

Everybody is selling something whether we realized it or not. Selling is key to everything that we do. Though, there are people that are been paid to sell, those people are referred to as professional sales people.

Today, many people confused selling with marketing. Marketers are not necessarily sales people. Marketers primarily concern themselves with research, while sales people sells.

Below are 9 quick rules of professional selling.
1. Before you start to sell your products or services, make sure you are happy from within and appear very presentable.

2. Sell yourself. Make the person you want to sell to be interested in you before you begin your sales presentation and find the common ground. Don't rush into selling. It is very important.

3. Sell to people. Selling is only directed at people. Every prospective buyer has different requirements and aspirations. Try to be fast in understanding prospects and sell to them based on your understanding.

4. Ask questions. The most important attribute of a professional person is the ability to ask question. Learn to ask your prospects questions. Don't just assume.

5. Learn to listen. Sadly, very few salespeople really listen. Most times, they are only interested in talking.

6. Sell the benefits more. Customers or prospects are more interested in purchasing the benefits. It is the benefits that they want not the features.

7. Sell the results. Don't sell your products or services. Sell the results, or what your product or service will do.

8. Don't rely on logic. Most salespeople are trained to find a need, to prove a need and to see the need. What all these techniques does is create "hard selling patterns".
What most professional salespeople do is to find a "need" but will not sell the "need". They turn that "need" into "want", by selling the results of either having or not having.
Good selling turns that emotional appeal to the advantage of the seller, and create a want.

9. Identify your unique selling points. Every business, every product or service, has something that is unique, and most professional take time out to be sure in there mind exactly what there (USPs) are. Knowing what they are and knowing how to use them will certainly help you to win business when you are up against tough competition..
